SELLING SMART
Simply Ask!
Ask anyone in our business. In fact, ask anyone who has ever been involved in any type of sales function. They know the formula for successful selling and so do you!
You can argue until the cows come home and it still boils down to the same elements for success. You have to possess an “I can do it ATTITUDE;” you need basic SELLING SKILLS; and you must have excellent PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE. If you possess all three, you are solid gold. Missing one? Good luck. Missing two? Slim chance!

So let’s review what we know so far. How do you define a CAN DO ATTITUDE? It is a feeling deep inside you that convinces you to go for it. The sky is the limit! It is the voice in your brain telling you to try again when you have failed before. A CAN DO ATTITUDE means wanting to take the day off to play golf but you know your putter isn't buying your products and your five iron isn't paying the rent, so you go to work instead and try to make something good happen!

And how many different ways can you learn to improve your selling skills? There must be a zillion experts all over the Internet offering you advice about BASIC SELLING SKILLS. And most will be offering the same litany of essential elements necessary to make a living in this business. They all say you must prepare for the sale; treat your potential buyers with respect; introduce them to a buying opportunity; respond knowledgeably to their questions and concerns; be certain to ask them to buy; and follow up on your efforts and promises.

Then there is the critical matter of EXCELLENT PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE. This means knowing your business inside out! It is being able to sell because you understand your product’s value and performance quality. It is the power to answer questions in a manner that gives the buyer the confidence to know they are talking to the right source for their purchase. Without EXCELLENT PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE, you might as well stay in bed because if you don't know it; you can't sell it!.
Putting it all in perspective; to successfully sell any product you need to simply A.S.K.

There really isn't much we can do to put the right thinking in your brain, because no one can motivate you, except you. Yes, we can offer incentives and create motivational climates in which you might get excited about opportunities but if you choose to ignore our efforts, there is little we can do in response. And when it comes to selling skills, you have tons of materials to choose from: books, seminars, Internet learning programs, and observation of skillful peers all can improve your performance record. But once again, you have to open the funnel and allow the ideas to pour in.
